SEATING CAPACITY
Cougar Field holds a seating capacity of 3,500 fans, but can accommodate up to 5,000 fans with a pair of grass berm areas located along the outfield lines. A canopy red roof covers the upper general admission seats, shading fans during the hot Houston months.
HANDICAPPED ACCESIBLE
The stadium is equipped and handicapped accessible, providing 35 seating spaces for wheelchairs along the concourse level. Seating and access for handicapped fans are convenient with two wide ramps located on each side of the park. Netting encompasses the reserved seating, so fans can be close to the action, yet safe from foul balls.
HITTING/PITCHING FACILITY
Along with the superb playing surface, the Cougars can take advantage of one of the region's top indoor hitting facilities, located along the west end of the stadium. The practice facility is designed to allow hitting, pitching and infield practice. With a Major League style look, the Houston home bullpen is equipped with three dirt mounds and field turf surface throughout. The bullpen area provides the Cougars with a short-game practice area, while being fully lit for night time practice and workouts. .
VIDEO BOARD
A 13-by-18-foot video board in right-centerfield that stands about 47 feet high and 60 feet wide was installed in 2007. The state-of-the-art project, which cost $450,000, funded by generous donations of Cougar Baseball fans and former players and built by Spectrum Corporation, provides fans with an in-depth look into the Cougar Baseball program with video highlights, replay, and player features during home games.
CLUBHOUSE
Cougar Field also houses the Cougars' clubhouse, which includes large, professional-style locker rooms and offices for the coaches. A training area for on-site sports therapy accompanies rooms for equipment, storage, video breakdown, and laundry are available for players, coaches, and team personnel.
Recent renovations in 2011 took place inside the Cougar clubhouse with newly installed wooden lockers, highlighting former players and donors to the program. Current players enjoy the luxury of flat screen televisions, a dining and lounge area for off-the-field comfort.
Visiting teams and umpires can enjoy the trip to Houston as both treated to separate quality locker room areas that house showers and dressing areas inside the visiting team dugout.

PRESS BOX
Located on the upper deck behind home plate is one of the best college press boxes in the country. The press box features booths for radio and television, a 28-seat working press area for writers and ample room to operate the public address and scoreboard. Accommodating the media is an important criteria for Houston to host future NCAA Regional events.
RECENT RENOVATIONS
Cougar Field has undergone several renovations, enhancing the overall look and playing surface for players and fans. In time for the 2012 season, the outfield wall was redone, enhancing the look of the companies that sponsor Cougar Baseball with new and updated ads across the padded wall. A new railing in front of each dugout was installed, while new green safe padding was added to provide safety for players during game action. The bullpen was brought to life with a new UH windscreen facing the stadium seating. In 2010, the netting behind home plate was replaced; the red roof and dugouts were freshly painted with Houston Cougars across the tops, while the "Bring Back the Red" chairback campaign, allowed all the reserved-seating chairs to be replaced.
POST-SEASON PLAY
Cougar Field has hosted two NCAA Regionals, one Super Regional and two C-USA Championships over the last 12 years. The all-time best crowd of 4,519 came against Rice in the NCAA Regionals back in 2000. The year 2000 still remains one of the best years for attendance, as seven of the Top 10 all-time record attendance numbers came during that year alone.
