    April 26 Sports Performance Clinic Approaching

    HOUSTON – The University of Houston Sports Performance department’s Sports Performance clinic on Saturday, April 26, at Houston’s Athletics/Alumni Center is rapidly approaching. Led by Houston’s Co-Director of Sports Performance Brian Odom, the clinic will feature five speakers from the sports performance world along with breakfast and lunch as part of the event’s registration.

    The event will begin at 9 a.m. with registration opening at 8 a.m. in the Carl Lewis Auditorium located inside the Athletics/Alumni Center at 3100 Cullen Blvd. Walk-up registration will be accepted Saturday for $40. All attendees of the event are eligible to receive continuing education units.

    Scheduled speakers at the clinic include Houston’s Associate Director of Sports Performance Lyonel Anderson, Rice head strength coach Kevin Yoxall, Baylor head strength coach Kaz Kazadi, the City of Houston’s Parks and Recreation Department’s Fitness Director Shadston Pittman and Team Houston Olympic Weightlifting coach Tim Swords.

    Houston fans can guarantee a place in history by purchasing season tickets for the first ever season in the new Houston Football Stadium. General admission season tickets are currently on sale for just $140 as are Memorial Hermann Family Plan four-pack season tickets for just $299.

    For those interested in purchasing 2014 reserved season tickets, fans may place a $200 season ticket deposit at that will give access to participate in a 24-hour Select-A-Seat process in May. The $200 deposit is not a fee and will go towards the cost of season tickets. Lower level reserved season tickets begin at just $200.

    Houston opens the 2014 season at 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29, when it hosts UTSA in the first ever game in the Houston Football Stadium.
