In 1996 the University of Houston began athletic competition in Conference USA, the start of a 17-year relationship that will officially come to an end on July 1 when the Cougars make the move to The American Athletic Conference.

Over the next 20 days, UHCougars.com will take a look back at athletic achievements during Houston's Conference USA history. From 142 NCAA appearances and 58 Conference USA Championships to Errol Nolan giving UH its latest NCAA title this spring, we'll take a look back at all the accomplishments of Houston Athletics over the last 17 years.

The Houston Athletics Department would also like to extend its gratitude to Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky and his staff for their hard work, dedication and support throughout the years.
