HOUSTON - After a month-long contest and hundreds of entries, the University of Houston Athletics Department is down to the final four suggestions for the name of the new gift and apparel store... and Cougar fans will have the final say!

Houston fans are invited to visit the polls and submit their votes for the name of the new gift and apparel store. After reviewing all the entries, a committee of Houston Athletics Department and Barnes & Noble College Booksellers administrators pared the list down to three names.


THE FINAL FOUR ENTRIES
1 - UH Fan Shop

2 - Cougar Team Shop

3 - Cougar Outfitters

4 - Go Coogs Fan Shop


THE DEADLINE
Fans can vote on the new name until 5 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 4.


THE ANNOUNCEMENT
The winning entry will be announced during the week of August 8-14 with the Grand Opening of the store to be held in conjunction with Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 14.


PRIZES
The fan whose entry was selected will receive $100 in merchandise from the new store and four tickets to a 2010 Cougar Football game. If the winning name was entered by multiple people, officials will draw for the winner.


A NEW PARTNERSHIP
In late June, the Athletics Department entered into a partnership with Barnes & Noble College Booksellers to manage the gift and apparel store.

Located on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center near the Athletics Ticket Office, the new store offers more brand names from which fans can choose. Barnes & Noble personnel also will sell merchandise at Houston home events.

Barnes & Noble Booksellers operates at more than 600 U.S. colleges and universities, serving nearly 4 million students and more than 250,000 faculty members.
