Rockets' McGrady, TV Announcer Worrell To Serve As Honorary Captains

Both Join Festivities of Fan Fest Prior to the Bayou Bucket Game

HOUSTON - The University of Houston Athletics Department announced on Thursday that Houston Rockets' star Tracy McGrady and former Cougar and current Rockets' television play-by-play announcer Bill Worrell will serve as honorary co-captains for the Cougars' Saturday afternoon Bayou Bucket clash with Rice.

Kickoff for the rivalry game is set for 2:30 pm at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium.

"Tracy McGrady is not only one of the greatest basketball players of all time, but he also is an outstanding citizen of the City of Houston" said UH Director of Athletics Dave Maggard. "We are proud to have Tracy join one of the former great athletes in Cougar history in Bill Worrell as our honorary co-captains for this very important rivalry."

The Cougars and Owls face off at 2:30 pm on Saturday afternoon at John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium. The game will be televised nationally by CSTV.
