Allison Franklin joined the University of Houston Athletics Department in January 2016 as director of performance nutrition.
In that role, she oversees nutrition education and program operations for all 17 athletics teams. She also coordinates operations in Cougar Café, develops training table meals and works closely with coaches, athletics trainers and sports performance staff in providing student-athletes with healthy, well-rounded lifestyles.
Franklin came to Houston after serving as an intern in 2015 at Alabama, where she worked closely with the Football, Diving and Men's and Women's Tennis programs.
Franklin, who is a Houston native, graduated summa cum laude with bachelor's degrees in food & nutrition and dance from Alabama in 2014. While working as an intern there, she continued her education and received her master's degree in human nutrition in 2015.
