    Derrick Fazendin

    Derrick Fazendin joined the Houston Athletics Communications in October 2013. In his current role, he coordinates all publicity and media relations efforts for the women's basketball and tennis programs. He continued in that role until September 2014.

    Fazendin joined the Cougars after spending the 2012-13 season at Cal State Fullerton, where he served as the primary contact for the women's basketball, men's soccer, men and women's track and field teams and was a secondary contact for the nationally ranked baseball program.

    A native of Mission Viejo, Calif., he also served internships with Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim during the 2012 season and with the University of Arizona, where he worked primarily with the 2012 College World Series Champion baseball program as a media relations assistant. He also served as the media relations contact for UA's nationally ranked rugby program.

    Fazendin received his bachelor's degree in journalism with a sports management minor from Arizona in 2012. He is single and lives in Houston.
