Ian Sadler joined the University of Houston Department of Intercollegiate Athletics as its assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions in July 2014.
Sadler came to Houston after a two-year stint at Kansas, where he served as assistant director of marketing and fan experience. He was responsible for marketing and promotional elements for the Football, Men's Basketball, Volleyball and Softball teams as well as the Jayhawks for a Cure program.
Sadler worked from 2010 to 2012 at Arkansas as a partner services coordinator for IMG College. There, he oversaw the activation of sponsorship contracts with the school's multimedia rights holder Razorback Sports Properties.
He earned his bachelor's degree in sports management from Kansas in 2010. Sadler also received the Jack Wolfe Memorial Scholarship, recognizing an outstanding senior based on grades, character and leadership.
Sadler is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) and serves on the Strategic Communications Board. He also worked as the vice president of the Kansas Athletics Staff Advisory Board and was the public address announcer for Women's Basketball.
He is married to the former Meredith Ryan.
