Lateki Lewis enters her third season as assistant director for the Academic Center for Excellence in 2010-11. In that role, she works with junior and senior members of the football team.
She assists in the academic counseling of student-athletes on day-to-day academic concerns, such as tutoring, mentoring and monitoring academic progress.
Prior to her time in the athletics department, Lewis was an academic advisor in the University Studies division on campus. There she advised and assisted prospective and current students regarding academic programs and curriculums. She also trained undergraduate advisors and developed the pre-law advising program.
She received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's degree in counseling psychology from Saint Xavier University. Lewis is currently working towards her doctorate in educational leadership and supervision from the University of Houston.
Lewis was selected to the Phi Delta Honor Society for International Studies and was a member of the National Honor Society in Psychology and the National Criminal Justice Honor Society.
Lewis is single and lives in Houston.
