Allison McClain joined the University of Houston as Assistant Director of Athletics Communications in February 2012. In this role, McClain serves as the primary contact for the Cougar volleyball and baseball teams.

McClain comes to Houston after acting as the Sports Information Director at her alma mater Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana.

At Centenary,McClain handled communication efforts for all 16-intercollegiate sports for 2.5 years as well as supervised a small staff of student assistants.

McClain graduated from Centenary in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with an emphasis on Professional Writing. While at Centenary, McClain was a four-year letterwinner on the Ladies softball team, earning All Mid-Con honors as a utility player.

Prior to rejoining the Centenary athletic department, McClain spent the 2009 summer working as a Media Relations intern with the Houston Astros Baseball Club. With the Astros, she served as an editorial assistant for the Astros Magazine, assisted with game-day press box duties, compiled daily clips, worked with TV stats, and recapped games for the Astros Minor League affiliates.

McClain is a native of Diboll, Texas. Her younger brother Wesley is a junior on the Cougar golf team at UH.
