Kelly Spriggs joined the University of Houston as Assistant Director of Sports Performance in June 2010 and was promoted to Co-Director of Sports Performance in 2012. Spriggs was promoted to Director of Sports Performance in January of 2015. Spriggs is responsible for working with the women's basketball, volleyball and swimming programs.
Spriggs came to Houston from the University of Minnesota, where she worked with the women's track and field, cross country, gymnastics and tennis teams.
Prior to Minnesota, Spriggs served as a graduate assistant at Baylor University for two years. In May 2008, she received her master's of education in sport pedagogy.
Spriggs competed collegiately at Baylor, where she was a four-year letter winner on the volleyball team. Spriggs also served as an intern in the strength and conditioning program as a senior at Baylor.
The Houston native earned her bachelor's degree in communications from Baylor in 2006.
Spriggs is certified through the USA Weightlifting organization, the National Association of Speed and Explosion and Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
