Jay Takach is in his sixth year at the University of Houston and his fourth year as an Assistant Athletics Director for Equipment. He was promoted to his current position in 2006 after serving more than one year as the Director of Equipment Operations. In that role, he is responsible for the purchasing and maintenance of equipment for the UH football team as well as UH's other 15 programs. Takach came to Houston in 2004 after serving as an assistant equipment manager for three years at Virginia Tech University, where he was responsible for inventory, away game travel, equipment maintenance and student manager supervision. Before he joined Virginia Tech's staff, Takach spent one year at the University of Wisconsin, serving as an assistant equipment manager supervisor. He began his career in equipment operations as a student assistant at his alma mater, Michigan State University. Takach received his bachelor's degree in marketing from Michigan State in 2000 and earned his master's degree in health physical education from Virginia Tech in 2003. He is single and lives in Houston. |
