Jay Takach begins his third season as a member of the UH equipment staff and his second as Director of Equipment Operations. Takach arrived at the University of Houston in 2004, and immediately stepped in to assist football during the fall.

Takach comes to UH from Virginia Tech, where he spent three years as an assistant equipment manager. While at Virginia Tech, Takach was responsible for inventory, away game travel, equipment maintenance and student manager supervision.

Prior to Virginia Tech, Takach spent one year at the University of Wisconsin, serving as an assistant equipment manager supervisor. He began his career as a student assistant at his alma mater, Michigan State University.

Takach, who is single, received his bachelor's degree in marketing from Michigan State and later received his master's degree in health physical education from Virginia Tech.
