Tristan Hood serves the University of Houston Athletics Department as associate director of compliance. She assumed that role in November 2014 after working as assistant director for compliance since her arrival at Houston in January 2013.
In her current role, she oversees many aspects of the day-to-day compliance operations, including supervision of the Player Agent Program.
Hood, who is a native of Ashland, Ky., joined the Cougars after a 3-year stint at Western Kentucky as the compliance assistant. There, she assisted in daily compliance operations and led educational meetings for Hilltopper coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
As an undergraduate at Western Kentucky, Hood worked as an assistant athletics trainer, primarily with the football team.
She received her bachelor's degree in exercise science in 2009. Following her graduation, she worked for a year in the WKU Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport Department as a graduate assistant.
Hood received her Master's Degree in sports administration from Western Kentucky in May 2013 and was named the Outstanding Graduate Student in Recreation and Sport Administration.
