Tylar Walyuchow joined the University of Houston Department of Athletics as assistant director for development/special events with Cougar Pride in May 2017.
In that role, she oversees a variety of Athletics Department special events, including Football gameday tailgate preparation, ceremonies, reunions, donor luncheons/receptions, annual scholarship dinners, banquets and related events.
Walyuchow -- whose name is pronounced Tie-Ler Wall-uh-chow -- joined the Cougars after working for the previous two years as development director for Bluebonnet Youth Ranch, a non-profit organization that cares for dependent and neglected children. She coordinated its annual celebrity golf tournament, which raised more than $150,000 net profit and managed more than 100 volunteers throughout the fundraising season.
She first entered collegiate athletics as an undergraduate at Texas State, where she worked as a clerk in the Athletics Ticket Office. She also served for more than four years as a game-day staff manager with the Victoria Generals Baseball Club, overseeing on-field activities, ticket booth and concession stands, from 2010 to 2014.
Walyuchow received her bachelor's degree in marketing from University of Houston - Victoria in 2016 and graduated magna cum laude from Victoria West High School in 2011.
Her father, Ashley, is the director of athletics at University of Houston - Victoria.
