Alan Villavasso enters his fourth year with the University of Houston and his second as the Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Operations after being promoted to that position in September 2008.
In that role, he supervised the upkeep and enhancements of all athletics facilities, coordinates internal and external special events and supervises a facilities/game day staff of security, cleaning services, grounds crew and student workers..
During his tenure at UH, Villavasso assisted in game management at the 2008 NCAA Men's Basketball South Regional at Reliant Stadium and served as tournament manager of the Conference USA Softball Championship, NCAA Houston Regional and NCAA Houston Super Regional in 2008.
Before joining UH, he worked in private business, serving as the director of event planning and international affairs at Lotus Pot Corporation from 2004 to 2006.
Villavasso first gained collegiate experience at Florida State, first as an event marketing representative and then as an assistant event director. In the latter role, he assisted in the overall operations of The Doubletree Invitational Basketball Tournament.
He graduated from Florida State in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in sports management/marketing.
Villavasso is single and lives in Houston.
