Jamie Zarda is entering her fifth year at the University of Houston and her third as Assistant Director for Athletic Communications with the Athletic Communications Department. She heads media relations for volleyball and baseball and also assists with other sports. Zarda travels with the teams, handles game-day operations involving media relations, publishes articles on the university website, updates player profiles and coordinates the media guides.

Zarda joined the department after holding an assistant position with UH from 2006 to 2008. Her responsibilities were in track and field, cross country, and softball. Prior to this, she was a student-assistant at the University of Kansas where she assisted in general media relations.

Zarda has coordinated all media requirements for multiple C-USA tournaments including softball (2008), track and field (2006-2007), swimming and diving (2009-2010) and baseball (2010). She also contributed to three NCAA events including Regionals in basketball and softball as well as a Super Regional for softball in 2008. Zarda also oversaw the football game-day program during the 2008 and 2010 seasons, the basketball game-day program for men's basketball in 2010 as well as East/West Shrine game programs. In addition, she was Webmaster for the "Kolb 4 Heisman" Website in 2006.

The Spring Hill, Kansas, native received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas in 2006. She was also a member of the Pi Beta Sorority from 2002-2006. Zarda is single and lives in Houston.
