The equipment department handles the equipment purchasing, maintenance, issuance, storage and other assorted details for all 17 intercollegiate athletic programs at the University of Houston. Along with its equipment duties, the department is instrumental in the operation of practices, travel and contests for the Cougars.

    In addition to the full-time staff personnel, the equipment staff is assisted by numerous student-managers who are assigned a sport and are responsible for the daily maintenance, organizing, storing and laundry of the athletics equipment.
