Sophomore Brian Barraza and Freshman Trumaine Jefferson have been named The American Athletic Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week after their performances at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational, the conference announced Tuesday.
Freshman sprinter/jumper Trumaine Jefferson jumped the second best mark in the NCAA in the long jump, and the Houston Cougar track and field teams set 29 personal records at the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational, at the Yeoman Fieldhouse, on Friday.
The Houston Cougar men's and women's track and field teams will host the annual 2015 Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational, named after the great Cougar distance runner, on Friday, Jan. 16 at the Yeoman Fieldhouse on campus.
