Competed in five meets for the Cougars... Finished second at the Howie Ryan Invitational in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.06... A member of the men's DMR team that placed second at the Tyson Invitational with a second best time in school history of 9:44.97... He also ran for the American Athletic Conference Indoor Champion DMR team.

Outdoor: Competed in six meets for Houston during the outdoor season running the 800m and the 4x400m, sprint medley, and distance medley relays...Set a personal best in the 800m at The American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships where he finished 10th in 1:52.26...Helped the Cougars to a fourth place finish in the 4x400m relay at The American Championships.

Outdoor: Ran the 800m in five meets for the Cougars... Helped the Cougar men's 4x800m relay team to a 4th place finish at the 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays... Ran a season best of 1:53.02 during the prelims of the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.

2012-13 (Sophomore)
Took home a third-place finish in the men's 800m with a time of 1:54.56 at the Texas A&M 12-Team Invitational... Placed fifth overall with a personal record of 1:52.71 at the Texas A&M Invitational...Finished eighth at the Conference USA Indoor Championships with a time of 1:59.21.

Outdoor: Competed in one meet for the Cougars... Ran a 4:03.01 in the 1500m during the Victor Lopez Bayou Classic.

2011-12 (Freshman)
Ran a season best in the 800m of 1:55.88 at the 2012 adidas Classic... Also ran the DMR and set a season best of 10:03.85 (2nd) at the 2012 New Balance Collegiate Invitational... Placed in the Top 10 six times between the two events.

Outdoor: Competed in the 800m, 4x8, 4x4, 4x15, DMR, 1500... Ran a season best of 1:52.84 in the 800m at the Conference USA Outdoor Championships... Contributed to a 4x8 season best of 7:26.54 at the 2012 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays... Also at the 2012 Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Fernando set a season best in the DMR with a time of 10:01.54... Ran a season best of 3:15.44 in the 4x4 at the LSU Invitational: Battle on the Bayou.
