Indoor: Won the pole vault at the Conference USA Championships and finished in third place at the Houston Invitational with a season-best vault of 16-4.75. Outdoor: Won the pole vault at the Texas Southern Relays....Placed fifth at the Conference USA Championships...finished in sixth place at the Texas Relays and took eighth place at the Texas Invitational with a season-best mark of 16-6.75...also finished fourth at the Tom Tellez Invitational.
2002
Indoor: Competed as the Cougars' top pole vaulters for the season...recorded his best height of 16-02.75 at the Southwest Classic and at the LSU Twilight Invitational...was the Conference USA Champion with a vault of 16-00.75. Outdoor: Finished second at the UTEP Invitational (16-08.75)...also placed third at the Longhorn Invitational (16-02.75).
High School
Was a vital member of both the track and football teams at Tomball High School... won the 15-5A District Championship in the pole vault in 2000...was the Region II Pole Vault Champion and 5A State Runner-up in 2001...started at wide receiver and corner back for the football team.
