Member of the track team at Yates High School...was team captain as a senior...finished in second place in the long jump at the 2003 Texas Class 5A State Championships with a leap of 23-11.50...also was the runner-up at the Region III-5A Championships...won the triple jump at the District 18-5A Championships as a junior...three-year letterman as a wide receiver on Yates' football team.

Personal: Born August 16, 1985, in Houston ,Texas...son of Rufus and Theresa Williams of Houston...favorite hobbies include playing with his pit bull puppies...also recruited by Texas A&M, Kansas State and Abilene Christian...chose to attend UH because of its excellent track program and school was close to home.
