HOUSTON, Texas - Both the men's and women's indoor track and field squads at the University of Houston enjoyed a productive first day at the Conference USA Indoor Track and Field Championships, as both teams head into tomorrow's final day with first-place leads. In front of a boisterous crowd in the Yeoman Field House, the men's team holds a 17-point lead over TCU, while the women's team is in first place with 36 points, just six ahead of fast-charging South Florida. The Cougars were staked to their lead on the men's side thanks in part to two first-place finishes, two third-places, one fourth-place and second-place title in the distance medley relay.
