HOUSTON -- Junior sprinter Seun Adigun set a personal-best in the women's 60-meter hurdle finals to lead the University of Houston track and field team at the Arkansas Last Chance Meet on Friday in Fayetteville, Ark.

Adigun improved on her NCAA Provisional mark, posting a clocking of 8.23 to take first place in the 60-meter hurdles.

Adigun's time highlighted the Cougars' performances at the meet, as six members from Houston's track and field team made the trip to Arkansas to compete in their final tune-up before returning to Arkansas for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held March 15-16.

Also competing for UH was senior sprinter Tremaine Smith, who ran in both the men's 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Smith posted a time of 6.95 in the 60m and a mark of 21.78 in the 200m.

The Cougars also sent four jumpers to Arkansas to get some more work in before the NCAA's. Freshman Thomas Lang (14.86m (48-09.00)), junior Jeremy Kelley (14.52m (47-07.75)), and freshman Chris Carter (13.64m (44-09.00)) all competed in the men's triple jump.

In the men's long jump, freshman Ed Turner posted a mark of 6.98m (22-11.00). Turner set a provisional mark in the long jump last weekend during the Conference USA Indoor Championships, taking gold with a leap of 7.62m (25-00.00).

Up Next The Cougars will prepare for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships held in Fayetteville, Ark., on March 15-16.
