Track & Field Concludes TSU Relays

HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field team concluded day two of the TSU Relays on Saturday. The Cougars claim five event titles in the final day of competition.
Sophomore Sade-Mariah Greenidge took gold in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.59, while Dominique Brisco took the bronze after clocking in at 14.01 seconds. Amber Sellers and Angelica Thompson finished eighth and ninth respectively.
In the men's 110-meter hurdles, freshman Isaac Williams placed first after crossing the finish line at 13.95 seconds. Teammate, Leon Bullock followed close behind to take second (14.16).
Sophomore Kiersten Brewer finished first in the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 11.71, while junior Nicole Benton added another event title for the Cougars in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.80m (42-0).
The women's 4x100 relay team comprised of Alicia Perkins, Ngozi Onwumere, Anaszatzia Nguyen, and Kiersten Brewer topped the competition after running a 44.86 race. On the men's side, the 4x200 relay team (Eric Futch, Isaac Williams, Jermaine Fyffe, Dominique Charles) took home third overall after running 1:25.11.
Two Cougars placed in the top-five of the men's discus. Sophomore Jared Tyler threw a distance of 49.01m (160-9) to take second, while senior John Fortune followed in fourth with a personal best of 47.34m (155-4).
Senior Garrett Hughey finished third in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.25.
