Baton Rouge, La. - The University of Houston men and women's track and field teams posted three victories and four runner-up finishes at the LSU Alumni Gold Invitational Track and Field Meet Saturday.

Ebonie Floyd set a new school record and had the top collegiate time in the women's 400-meter race with a career-best time of 51.66 seconds while running in her first outdoor 400-meter race in nearly three years. In addition, Carey LaCour had the best collegiate time with a career-best 45.87 seconds while his first 400-meter race of the 2006 outdoor season.

Tristian Whitley and Ivan Diggs tied for first place in the men's high jump after both cleared 2.10 meters (6-10.75).

LaDedra Guy also was the runner-up in the women's 100-meter race with a time of 11.79 seconds, while Houston's 4x100-meter relay team finished in second place with a season-best time of 44.38 seconds.

Jonathan Reeves finished in second place in both the shot put and discus throw with marks of 18.43 meters (60 feet, 3.75 inches) and 53.69 meters (176 feet, 2 inches), respectively.

Houston also had third-place showing in the men's 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay races with times of 39.78 seconds and 3:09.07. Houston's time in the 4x100-meter race was the team's best time this season.

The Cougars will compete at the Drake Relays on April 27-29 and at the Rice All-Comers Meet on April 29 before being the host for the Houston Invitational on May 6.
