Philadelphia, PA - The University of Houston track and field teams concluded the 118th running of the Penn Relays from Franklin Field on Saturday, as the women's 4x400m relay took gold in the event.
Brittany Wallace, Ciera Johnson, Tai'shea Reese and Ngozi Onwumere, were the 4x400m champions of the College Division, as they finished with a time of 3:38.86.
Reese and Grecia Bolton returned to take third and sixth, respectively, in the finals of the 100m dash. Reese crossed the line in 11.61, while Bolton finished in 11.70.
Freshman Alicia Perkins also returned for the finals of the 100m hurdles, where she took seventh with her time of 13.57.
On the men's side, the 4x100m relay (Isaiah Sweeney, Errol Nolan, James Lang and Markquis Frazier) claimed a third place finish, as they crossed the line in 40.58. The West Indies relay won the event with their 39.94 mark.
In the 4x400m relay, Xavier Boyd, Doug Kelly, Dominique Charles and Errol Nolan notched a top-five finish, as they finished fourth with their time of 3:11.91. St. Augustine took first with its time of 3:08.10.
The men's 4x800m relay (Drevan Anderson-Kaapa, Anthony Coleman, Mark Fernado and Nate Pineda) was able to secure a top-10 finish as well, as they finished in 7:30.19 to claim eighth.
Part of the University of Houston track and field team travelled to San Marcos, Texas for the Bobcat Invitational. Results will be available later tonight.
