Wesley Bray in Fourth At USA Track and Field Championships

Indianapolis, Ind. - Freshman Wesley Bray is in fourth place after the first day of competition at the USATF Championships in Indianapolis. He has 3,749 points through five events. He will conclude the decathlon competition on Thursday.

The Cypress, Texas native won the long jump portion of the decathlon clearing 7.07m/23-02.50" and was fourth in the shot put.

Freshman Brittani Williams is in 14th place with 2,726 points in the heptathlon through four events. The heptathlon will also conclude on Thursday.

Bentley and Williams are two of nine athletes who will compete at the championships this week.

Competing in field events Thursday will be freshman Quin'shundolyn McPherson (long jump), freshman Hyleta Young (long jump) and freshman Alex Bentley (pole vault).

Freshmen Ahmed Harb and Daniel Martinez will run the 1,500-meter race on Friday and along with freshman Jason Perez who will run in the 400-meter hurdles. McPherson will compete in the triple jump on Friday and Williams will wrap-up her competition in the javelin.
