    Indianapolis, Ind. -- Freshman Jason Perez advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles Friday at the USA Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Perez finished third in the prelims with a time of 51.60 and will race in the finals Saturday at 3:25 p.m.

    Also competing were freshman Ahmed Harb and Daniel Martinez; both ran in the 1,500 meter prelims. Martinez finished 19th with a time of 4:02.00 and Harb was 21st (4:05.51).

    Freshman Brittani Williams, who finished sixth in the heptathlon on Thursday, competed in the javelin competition. She finished 18th with a throw of 34.02m/111-07".

    Freshman Quin'shundolyn McPherson rounded out the competition for the Cougars in the triple jump. She finished sixth with a jump of 12.26m/40-02.75".

    Saturday will be the final day for the Cougars with Perez competing in the 400-meter hurdle finals. For resulting following the race go to www.uhcougars.com.
