Track and Field to Compete in Texas A&M 12-Team Invite

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- After a month-long break, the University of Houston track and field teams are back at it and set to compete in the Texas A&M 12-Team Invitational on Saturday at the Gilliam Indoor Track and Field Stadium inside the McFerrian Athletic Center.
This one-day meet will be scored between competing teams from Houston, Texas A&M, Baylor, North Texas, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas Southern, Texas State, UTA and UTSA. Scoring in the meet will be on a 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis for all events with only three athletes per school eligible to score.
The meet will begin at noon with the women's 60-meter hurdles on the track, while the men's high and triple jump and the women's pole vault will take place on the field. The Invitational will conclude with the men's 4x400 relay at 6:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
On the women's side, there were 10 top-5 performances. Sophomore hurdler Sade-Mariah Greenidge took home a first place finish in the 60-meter hurdle with a time of 8.59.
