HOUSTON - After an impressive outing at the Leonard Hilton Invitational, the University of Houston track and field teams are set to travel to Lincoln, Neb., for Saturday's Adidas Classic meet at the Devaney Center Indoor Track.
"Our objective this weekend is to look at this competition as a conference preparation," head coach Leroy Burrel said. "We haven't traveled to the conference meet in over 10 years so I feel that it's important to prepare the team for that situation, especially since this meet is scored."
This will be the first scored meet of the season for the Cougars. Nebraska, Witchita State, Air Force and Iowa will join Houston in the field of five competing at the event.
Default NCAA scoring with six scoring positions will be used. There will be no limitation on the number of individual scorers per team. Only one relay team per institution will be allowed to score. Individual events will be scored 10-8-6-4-2-1; relay events, 10-8-6-4-2.
