HOUSTON– Two University of Houston sprinters and the men’s 4x400 relay team will represent the Cougars at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
Senior Errol Nolan enters competition ranked No. 8 nationally in the men’s 400-meter dash with his school-record breaking time of 46.10, which he clocked at the Iowa State Last Chance meet on Saturday. Competing at the NCAA Championships only adds to the Rosenberg, Texas native’s successful senior season. At the Conference USA Indoor Championships, Nolan claimed gold in the 200m and 400m for the third consecutive year.
Fellow sprinter, freshman Leshon Collins claimed the final qualifying spot in the men’s 60-meter dash with his personal best of 6.67 seconds. His mark is the second fastest time in program history.
The school-record holding 4x400 relay team comprised of Nolan, Garrett Hughey, Eric Futch, and Kelvin Furlough will run as the 10th seed as they carry a time of 3:07.60, which they set at the season opener on Dec. 8.
ESPN3 will air the meet live at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. ESPNU will televise the Championship on tape delay at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. However, fans are encouraged to follow the live stats provided by Flash Results.
