HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field team will host the Tom Tellez Invitational on Friday and Saturday on the Lewis/Tellez International Track Complex.
The meet is set to begin with the field events at 1 p.m. on Friday and the running events will start at 5:30 p.m. Saturday will feature the event finals beginning at 9 a.m. The Invitational will include high school and college races. Admission to the event costs $5.
This will be the last home meet for the Cougars until May 4 when they host the Houston Invitational.
Last weekend, UH concluded the indoor season at the NCAA Championships. Three athletes qualified for the meet. Senior Ebonie Floyd earned All-America honors for her sixth place finish in the 200 meters. She also finished 14th in the prelims of the 60 meters. Junior Ivan Diggs also finished eighth in the high jump to be named an All-American. Senior Carey LaCour finished 17th in the prelims of the 200 meters.
