HOUSTON- Kevin Johnson, Sean Spiehler, and Cassie Wiley will compete at the Shirley Crowe Combined Events Classic on Tuesday and Wednesday at Rice Track/Soccer Stadium.

The competition includes student-athletes from Houston, Harvard, New Orleans, Stephen F. Austin, Texas-Arlington, and Wichita State. The heptathlon will begin at 3 p.m. both days, while the decathlon starts at 4 p.m., Tuesday and Noon on Wednesday.

Johnson is coming off a fifth-place finish in the heptathlon at the Conference USA Indoor Championships, where he scored 4,736 points. Teammate, Spiehler placed eighth overall with a personal best of 4,676 points.

For the women, Wiley took home fourth in the pentathlon at the conference meet with a personal best 3,598 points. The Wellington, Kan. native, set personal records in four of the five events.

A LOOK AHEAD
The rest of the Cougars will take part in the Victor Lopez Classic on Friday and Saturday at Rice.
