Austin, Texas- - Andrew Carruthers and Alicia Cave won their heats to qualify for finals of the men's and women's 400-meter hurdles at the Texas Relays. Carruthers won the sixth heat with a season-best time of 58.38 seconds, while Cave won the first head of the women's 400-meter hurdles prelims with a time of 58.52 seconds.

Ron Veillon and Daniel Patton also qualified to compete in NCAA meets later this season. Veillon qualified for the NCAA Championships when he scored 7,034 points in the men's decathlon.

Patton qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships when he cleared five meters in the pole vault. He finished in sixth place.

In addition to Cave, Rachael Easley and Jaketa West posted season-best times in the women's 400-meter hurdles with times of 1:03.44 and 1:03.58, respectively. In the men's 400-meter hurdles, Sam Fobbs also had a season-best time of 53.37 seconds.

Alex Winstel also had a sixth-place finish in the men's 1500 meters with a time of 3:57.59, while Brent Henson finished in 13th place with a time of 4:04.99. In the women's 1500-meter race, Julie Perez finished in 11th place with a time of 4:58.68.
