HOUSTON - The University of Houston distance squad heads to California for the Stanford Invitational this weekend as the sprint and hurdles group takes a week off from competition.
Some of the nations best will be running in the distance carnival hosted at Cobb Track and Angell Field on the Stanford University campus.
Four of the Cougar men's team will represent in the 800-meter run including junior Yonas Tesfai who will also compete in the 1,500m.
The meet begins Friday morning with the men's 5K at 11 a.m. PST in which freshman Brian Barraza was accepted into. The men's 1,500m will follow at 1:20 p.m. while the men's 800m run is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m.
