TAMPA, Fla.- The University of Houston track and field team will make a quick trip east to take part in the South Florida Collegiate Invitational on Friday. This one-day meet will mark the first time since the 2009-10 season that the Cougars have traveled to the Sunshine State to compete.
This scored meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the women's hammer throw and conclude with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 11:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Cougars traveled to Austin to compete in the 86th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays last weekend. Thrower John Fortune threw a personal best in the men's shot put to place second (17.14m; 56-3) in Section B.
Freshman Eric Futch punched his ticket to the University Men's 400-meter hurdle finals after running a season-best 52.06 in the prelims. Futch went on to place seventh overall (53.05) in the final round.
A LOOK AHEAD
Houston will head back to Austin to compete in the Texas Invitational on April 13.
