Houston, Texas- - Heavy rains and thunderstorms in the Greater Houston area forced the University of Houston to postpone the Tom Tellez/Houston Invitational track and field meet to Sunday, May 2, at the Carl Lewis/Tom Tellez Complex.

The meet will begin with the men and women's hammer throws at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. The men and women's javelin throws will immediately follow and the men and women's pole vault will be held at 10:00 a.m.

The remaining field events and running events are slated for Sunday afternoon. The afternoon field events will include the men and women's long jumps at 1:00 p.m. followed by the men and women's triple jumps, high jumps and discus throws at 3:00 p.m. The running events begin with the women's 4x100-meter relay at 2:00 p.m.
