Houston, Texas - University of Houston junior All-American Stanford Routt was named the Conference USA Men's Track and Field Athlete-of-the Week after winning the 100-meter dash at the Tom Tellez/Houston Invitational with his best time of the season, a wind-aided 10.37 seconds.

Routt also posted a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash behind teammate Carey LaCour. LaCour won the race with a wind-aided time of 20.65 seconds, while Routt was the runner-up in 20.69 seconds.

Routt and LaCour both ran on Houston's 4x100-meter relay team that won that race with a time of 40.35 seconds.

Routt and LaCour will lead Houston into the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 13-15 at Louisville, Ky. The Cougars won the C-USA men's indoor track championship earlier this season and will be looking to win their fifth C-USA Outdoor title. Houston was the runner-up team at the 2003 C-USA Outdoor Championships.
