Dallas, Texas - Junior sprinter Ebonie Floyd and senior thrower Jonathan Reeves were named the Conference USA Athletes of the Week on May 9 after Floyd won the 100-meter dash and ran on Houston's winning 4x100-meter relay team, while Reeves won the discus throw and had the best mark in the shot put at the Houston Invitational. It marks the second time in the last three weeks that Houston has swept the C-USA Outdoor of the Week honors.

Floyd won the award for the third time this season after she won the 100-meter race with the third-fastest time in school history and one of the nation's top nine times with 11.29 seconds. She also was named the C-USA Outdoor Athlete of the Week on March 25 after setting a school record and the nation's fastest 400-meter time at the time, 56.11 seconds. She won the award for the first time after winning the 200-meter dash at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a time of 23.14 seconds, the nation's fourth-fastest time at the time and was with a wind reading of 2.3.

Reeves won the discus with a career-best throw of 56.85 meters (186-6). He also had a mark of 18.03 meters (59-2) in the shot put.
