Nolan to Compete at Jamaican Senior National Championships

KINGSTON, Jamaica - Senior sprinter Errol Nolan will face an elite field of athletes at the 2013 Jamaican Senior National Championships, starting Thursday at the National Stadium.
Nolan will compete in the men's 400-meter dash in hopes of qualifying for the men's 4x400-meter relay team at the 2013 International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships. The World Championships will be held Aug. 10-18 in Moscow.
The three-time All-American will take to the track at 6:20 p.m., Thursday. The semifinals for the event are scheduled for 7:25 p.m., Friday, while the finals will take place at 6:45 p.m., Saturday.
The Rosenberg, Texas, native is coming off a storied indoor season after claiming a national title in the men's 400-meter dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 45.75. In the preliminary round, he topped his competition by running a school-record breaking time of 45.72. At the conference meet, he took home gold in the men's 200- and 400-meter dash for the third time in his career.
Nolan redshirted the outdoor season to focus on qualifying for the World Championships.

Burrell will face some of the top 100-meter dash junior athletes in the country at 12:10 p.m., Thursday with the finals slated for later in the day at 2:05 p.m. Carter will take to the triple jump runway at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The top junior finishers will represent the United States on Aug. 23-25 at the 2013 Pan Am Junior Championships in Medellin, Columbia.
The USTF Championships serve as the section event for the coveted spots on Team USA at the IAAF World Championships on Aug. 10-18 in Moscow.
