HOUSTON - Six Cougars will compete at the 2009 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships on June 25-28 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.

Senior Ivan Diggs (high jump) and sophomores Chris Carter (triple jump) and Tyron Carrier (200m) will compete at the USATF Outdoor Championships for national awards and spots on the Team USA roster for the 2009 IAAF World Outdoor Championships held Aug. 15-23 in Berlin, Germany.

The USA Junior Championships, held in conjunction with the USA Outdoor Championships, will serve as the selection meet for the 2009 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, July 31-August 2 in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.

Freshmen Isaiah Sweeney , D'Korian Ford and Starla Garcia will represent the Cougars at the USA Junior Championships.

Three former Cougar standouts will also be competing at the USATF Championships as Ebonie Floyd, Tremaine Smith and Carey LaCour are scheduled to run.
