HOUSTON - Senior track & field student-athletes Karley King and Terracia Moody received United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors on Tuesday, for their accomplishments in the classroom and in competition.
In order to qualify, student athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and finished the regular season ranked in the top 96 nationally in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org for the indoor season, or have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds) for the outdoor season.
The duo were part of 727 women student-athletes from 193 different institutions to be honored for the 2013-14 academic year and were two of just 24 from the American Athletic Conference.
King, a four-year letterwinner, was named to the 2014 All-Conference Teams for indoor and outdoor competition and was a regional qualifier in the event. This season King was a three time American Athletic Conference Female Athlete of the Week (Dec. 17, Jan. 14, Jan. 21) and holds the outdoor school record in the pole vault after she cleared 4.21m (13'-9.75").
Moody transferred to Houston for her senior season and was a 2014 All-Conference selection in the indoor and outdoor 4x400m relays and was a member of the relay team that qualified for the NCAA Regionals.
