Track and Field Inks Senior From Texas A&M

HOUSTON - The University of Houston Track and Field program has signed jumper David Brown for the spring 2014 season, head coach Leroy Burrell announced Friday afternoon.

Brown will transfer to Houston after spending his sophomore season at Texas A&M. Last season, Brown placed first in the triple jump during the NCAA Division I Outdoor West Prelims with a mark of 16.15m (53'-0"). He also finished in the top eight at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Before moving to Texas A&M, Brown attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where he competed in the long, triple and high jump as well as the 200-meter dash.

Brown is product of Cameron Yoe High School in Cameron, Texas.
