Track & Field Announces 2012-13 Indoor Schedule

HOUSTON- Two home meets and a trip to the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York City highlight the University of Houston track and field programs 2012-13 indoor schedule, head coach Leroy Burrell announced Tuesday.
Burrell and staff put together a slate that will give the student-athletes an opportunity to compete against some of the most elite athletes and at world-class facilities.
Houston opens the indoor season with two meets in College Station, Texas. The Texas A&M Reveille Invitational will take place on Dec. 8, followed by the Texas A&M 12-Team Invitational on Jan. 12.
The Cougars return home to host two collegiate meets - the Leonard Hilton Memorial Invitational on Jan. 18 and the Howie Ryan Invitational & Multi's on Jan. 25-26.
Following the home stretch, Houston will travel to New York City to compete in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Feb. 1-2 at The Armory. This will be the fifth-straight year the Cougars have competed at this prestigious meet.
The Cougars will make their third and final trip to College Station to take part in the annual Texas A&M Invitational on Feb. 9, followed by a trip to the LSU Twilight in Baton Rouge, La. on Feb. 15.
Houston will close out the month of February as it travels east for the Conference USA Championships on Feb. 23-24 in Birmingham, Ala. Last season, the Cougar men took home a second-place finish, while the women placed third.
The two squads will split March 1-2, as student-athletes compete in the LSU Indoor Qualifier in Baton Rouge, La., the Arkansas Last Chance Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark., and the Iowa State Last Chance Meet in Ames, Iowa.
The 2013 NCAA Championships will be held March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark.
