HOUSTON - The University of Houston track and field program is set to compete in its first meet of the 2013-14 season and the first as members of the American Athletic Conference. The Cougars travel to College Station, Texas, for the 2013 Texas A&M Reveille Invitational Saturday, Dec. 7.
The meet will take place in the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium at the McFerrin Athletic Center on the Texas A&M campus and include 12 events per gender. Student-athletes from Texas A&M, TCU and UTSA will also be competing at the meet this weekend. Track events include the 60 meters, 200m, 800m, Mile, 5,000m, 60 hurdles and 4x400 relays. Field events include the high jump, pole vault, long jump, shot put and weight throw.
The invitational begins at 3 p.m. with the women's 60-meter hurdles and shot put. From there the running events will be on a rolling schedule.
The Cougars will take a month-long break before returning to campus to host the first home meet of the season, the Houston Indoor Opener Jan. 11, 2014.
