Earned All-American Athletic Conference honors for his fourth place finish at The American Championships where he ran the 8K in 23:45.01 to finish fourth...Landed a top-25 finish at the Pre-National meet after running a 25th place 23:42.4...Picked up his second consecutive victory of the season when he won the Texas A&M Invitational finishing the 8K in 23:28.5...Opened his 2015 season with a win in the 5.5K at the Rice Invitational in 18:33.72
Barraza became the first Cougar since 2011 to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country National Championships after posting a fourth place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional (29:41.5; 10K)...Barraza finished fourth at the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in Tulsa, Okla., after running the 8K in 24:53...Runner up at the 2014 Islander Splash Cross Country Meet after running the 8K in 25:17.7...Posted the top-score among collegiate athletes at the 39th Annual Justin F. Cooper Memorial Rice Invitational when he ran the 5K in 16:57
Barraza competed in all six meets for the Cougar men's team... He won the first meet of his collegiate career during the Baylor's Twilight Invitational (6K) with a time of 18:19.9... Barraza finished in the top five at the Rice Invitational (3rd - 16:50), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander Splash (2nd - 26:36.4), and the inaugural American Athletic Conference championships (5th - 23:36.60)... Ended the season with the South Central Regional 10K, finishing 28th with a time of 31:10.8.
Ran for coach Jesse Aguilar at El Paso Franklin High School...Holds school record in the 1600m, 3200m, Three mile, and 5K...Helped team win the 2011 and 2012 District Champions title.
