    Ran his first race with Houston at the Lori Fitzgerald taking the lead for the men, placed 7th overall with a 24:44.4 time...quickly became a leader for the men placing 4th after running a 24:27 8K and led the Cougars to a fourth place finish overall at the Texas A&M Invitational...earned his first Conference USA Cross Country Athlete of the Week after his performance at the Texas A&M Invitational on Sept. 25 2007...placed in the top 10 at the Conference USA Championships with a 28:56.1 time...finished the season at the NCAA South Central Regionals leading the men with an 11th place finish...missed an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships by less than one hundredth of a second with a 30:04.3 10k time.

    Prior to Houston
    Competed his freshman through junior years at Rice University...WAC Cross Country Freshman of the Year in 2003...ran a personal best of 4:01 in the mile and had a 10K time of 29:50.

    High School
    Ran under Gerald Stewart at Klein Oak...won the State Championship in the 1600M...set a 1600M state record...ran the fastest high school mile time in the nation in 2003.

    Born October 11, 1984...son of William and Elizabeth Magness...enjoys running...also recruited by Rice, Oregon, Cornell, Stanford and Arkansas...majoring in Kinesiology.
