Oumama Hallal teamed with unattached runner Shawna Florida to finish in sixth place at the University of Houston/Rice University Cross Country Relays at MacGregor Park in Houston.
Hallal and Florida completed the six-mile course in 38:15 as each runner completed a pair of one and one-half mile legs in the race.
Laura Kelley and Marissa Daniels, who both were competing unattached, won the race with a time of 34:36. Brandi Armstrong and Anna Roeve of Rice were the runners-up in the women's race with a time of 36:11.
In the men's division, returning All-Conference USA performers Sesar Figueroa and Cole Dailey competed unattached while recording the seventh time of 41:02. Figueroa and Dailey each completed a pair of two-mile legs in the race.
Newcomer Ty Stanfield, a transfer from Alabama, teamed with Chris McKinstry to finished in ninth place with a time of 41:12.
Luis Artoninos and Sean Wade won the men's race as they completed the eight-mile course in 39:15.
