Houston Opens Cross 2005 Cross Country Season at Texas A&M Relays

Keenan and Hallal record a sixth-place finish; Goodwin and Forward team up to finish in 12th place

COLLEGE STATION, Texas- - For Immediate Release Friday, September 2, 2005

The University of Houston men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2005 season at the Texas A&M Cross Country Relay Opener on Friday night, September, 2.

Freshman Kelcee Keenan and sophomore Oumama Hallal teamed up for a combined time of 46:24 to finish in sixth-place in the women's division. In the men's division senior Sesar Figueroa and Calum Neff competed unattached and finished in fifth place with a combined time of 37:58.

Houston's Paul Goodwin and Gus Forward teamed up for a 12th-place finish with a time of 39:39, while Ben Cohen and Maurilio Sanchez had a combined time of 40:59 to finish in 15th place.

Houston will continue its 2005 season at the Texas A&M Invitational next Saturday, September 10 at the Penberthy Intramural Complex at 7:45 a.m. in College Station.
