HOUSTON - The University of Houston cross country teams returned to action Sat., Oct. 21 at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas.

The men's team finished second overall with 90 points and the women's team finished fourth with 67 points.

Leading the way for the Cougar men's team was senior Calum Neff. The Woodlands, Texas native finished eighth with a time of 19:36.74. Finishing 17th was freshman Ahmed Harb with a time of 20:18.68, followed by freshman Michael Malain in 18th (20:22.66). Rounding out the top 25 for the UH was Paul Goodwin (22nd) and Daniel Martinez (25th).

Finishing in fifth for the women's team was junior Oumama Hallal. The Winter Springs, Fla., native finished with a time of 19:10. Freshman Jessica Cook followed with a sixth place finish of 19:29. Coming in 15th was junior Adriane Gunn with a time of 20:07. Sophomore Jennifer Harper finished the race with a time of 20:23 to finish 18th.

The Cougars will have the weekend off before traveling to Greenville, NC for the Conference USA Cross Country Championships on Oct. 28.
